Thank you for posting these beautiful badges, and providing the source, which shows many more of the same. The last of the badges connects the present with the past, with the inscription: "WIEDEŃ 1683 JAN III SOBIESKI" (VIENNA 1683 JOHN III Sobieski).

Thanks for the kind words Henryk. The Year 1683 and Vienna alludes of cause to the King's great Victory over the Ottomans who where laying siege to Vienna.

The War Museum in Warsaw exhibits the Ottoman trophies captured by Sobieski 327 years ago. Curiously I first viewed them in the Polish Museum in London, England, where they had been held from 1939, until returned to a free Poland.
