MALI, AZAWAD

Photos showing fighters of the National Movement for the Liberation of the Azawad or NMLA. The separatist faction wants to establish an independent Tuareg homeland in the north of Mali, known as the Azawad. The photos show groups of NMLA fighters bearing a flag that is a horizontal triband from top to bottom of green, red and black with what seems a yellow triangle at the hoist. This design does not appear to resemble any of the flags shown on the FOTW Mali page at http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/xb%5Earm.html#pro

I've been watching this on the news as well.

It looks like the folks on Wikipedia have been keeping up with it and have the flag in the articles.
