International Indigenous Unity Flag

Postby vexilo » 30 Apr 2013 20:46

International Indigenous Unity Flag : Feather represents leadership "just one being". The dots around the circles represent chiefs, councilors, and people. The bigger circles represent unity amongst the culture. The biggest circle that the big circles make represents complete unity on our diverse planet. — Artist: Michael Sher Serpent River FirstNation

This looks badly named to me. The unqualified word "indigenous" would include indigenous Britons in Britain, Russians in Russia, Arabs in Arabia, Chinese in China etc. But I don't think that's what the flag is supposed to symbolize :)

Alternatively, if we use the word "indigenous" correctly, the only place on Earth where there are indigenous human beings is East Africa, where our species evolved. All populations elsewhere in the world are descendants of immigrants!
